Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything about food in Chiang Mai. Until recently I also haven’t had many questions or comments about the food scene in the Northern city either. However, a few people have requested I post the rest of the photos from Like Life Diner, a low key burger joint in the trendy Nimman Soi 5 area.
The best thing about this place is their simplicity. They’ve now expanded their menu to include a lot more items. However, when I first visited, there were about 5 items on the menu and one homie in the kitchen. Burgers, fries, and onion rings for stupid cheap prices. The burger was juicy and presented nicely, making an impression on me from a place where on arrival I didn’t really know what to expect. The buns used were a bit too squishy for my liking but I loved the oversized bacon and egg pouring out. The burgers were miniature, but with those toppings and a 100 baht or so price tag, I couldn’t really complain.
The word is out and their popularity has grown, but the simplicity of the first visit is what made an impression on me. Straightforward menu and pleasant service in a minimal environment. I hope to visit them again on my next trip to Chiang Mai. For those of you asking exactly the whereabouts, I’ve tried to include some details below. If you do make it there, drop a note in the comments and let me know if your meal warrants a second visit.
